Camano Fire hiring new Assistant Fire Chief

With the forthcoming departure of Chief Levon Yengoyan – and the promotion of Assistant Chief Jason Allen to the role of Fire Chief effective in March – Camano Fire is looking for its next Assistant Fire Chief.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced, visionary fire service professional with exceptional leadership skills and a deep knowledge of fire service and EMS operations. The Assistant Chief serves as the district’s operations supervisor, overseeing operational readiness, directing fire and EMS efforts, managing personnel, and maintaining relationships with community partners.

Qualified applicants will have a strong academic background in fire science, command, public administration, or a related field and a minimum of 10 years’ fire service experience – with at least 5 of those years at the rank of Captain or higher.

Applicants must submit a Camano Fire job application, at least 3 letters of reference, and a letter of interest explaining their qualifications.

Application materials are due no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2025. A first-round review of submitted applications will be performed on Feb. 3, and qualified candidates will complete an assessment center on Feb. 19.
