REQUEST FOR PROPOSALHVAC INSTALLATION SERVICES & ENGINEERING

In accordance with the Washington State Small Works Ordinance, RCW 39.04.155, Camano Island Fire & Rescue (CIFR) is seeking a written Request for Proposals (RFP) from qualified service vendors for the replacement of an existing and leaking Mitsubishi HVAC System within an existing 12,000-square-foot fire station on Camano Island.

The existing HVAC system has developed recurring refrigerant leaks which have proven difficult to source or repair; routine HVAC operation is maintained by regular refrigerant refiling.

This RFP request is not a formal bid process and there is no promise of award for future work. Received RFPs will be evaluated by staff for consideration in the 2025 budget year.

RFP SPECIFICATIONS
Written RFPs must include the following information:

  • Statement of qualifications & experience
  • Engineering certification
  • Copy of your WA state contractor license
  • A generalized written cost quote proposal to perform the HVAC project work.  
    • Note: The cost estimate need not be fully itemized – but must be inclusive of the costs for the scope of work to be provided, including a timeframe for duration of work. Your quote will help determine our legal requirements for award of any future work.
  • Acknowledgement of the intent to pay prevailing wages to your service staff for this job
  • Outline of your company’s approach and methods to undertake these HVAC projects
  • References for projects of a similar scope that have been completed by your firm within the last five years
  • Evidence of adequate project Contractor Certificate of Insurance (COI) for this level of work
  • Identification of the factory authorized system warranty service provider located within the state of WA
  • Printed declaration of specific product Warranty Coverages, duration, and workmanship
  • Your current and valid subscription to the Washington state M.R.S.C  https://mrscrosters.org/


FACILITY ACCESS
A scheduled appointment is required before visiting the fire station to view or assess the existing HVAC system. Some as-built drawings (circa 2011) are available for review. SUBMISSION OF RFPs
CIFR will accept written proposals either in person or delivered via postal mail, no later than 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024. Written proposals received after this date/time may not be considered. The fire district reserves the right to waive any informalities and to reject any or all written proposals received. Proposals should be delivered or mailed to:

The Camano Island Fire & Rescue Board of Fire Commissioners (CIFR) is currently soliciting sealed bids from qualified ambulance manufacturers for one (1) new 2024 Ambulance Apparatus. CIFR is seeking proposals from qualified firms experienced in Ambulance manufacturing and service, providing high quality work and equipment, with track record for a quality final product and post delivery service.

BID AWARD

Only one (1) ambulance apparatus bid was received:

• $297,256.45 from BRAUN NW, Inc, Chehalis WA

Staff is presently reviewing the sole bid quote for content and accuracy. No award has yet been made.

CLOSED – CALL FOR BIDSNEW FIRE ENGINE PUMPER APPARATUS – CLOSED

Bids due: 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2023

The Camano Island Fire & Rescue Board of Fire Commissioners (CIFR) is currently soliciting sealed bids for one (1) new fire engine pumper apparatus or a suitable new dealer demonstrator model. It is the intent of CIFR to purchase, outright, one (1) newly completed fire engine pumper apparatus that is ready for immediate service.

BID AWARD
All such bids received by 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, will be opened and reviewed at the regular meeting of the CIFR Board of Fire Commissioners at 4:30 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2023. A final contract award to the successful bidder will be made at a later date and time after staff review of all received bids.
