Camano Fire’s annual Holiday Food & Gift Card Drive starts Nov. 1

We know the holidays aren’t easy for everyone. That’s why every year, Camano Fire turns its fire stations into drop-off points for donations to the Stanwood-Camano Food Bank. Your donations make a big impact for families in our community.

Last year, Camano residents overwhelmingly supported their neighbors: Camano Fire delivered 2,945 pounds of food, $1,155 in gift cards, and $2,360 in cash and checks thanks to the generosity of community members.

This year’s food & gift card drive runs Nov. 1 through Dec. 31.

How to donate

  • Bring your nonperishable food donations to any of our fire stations, or to our Administrative office, and put them in the marked donation buckets.
  • Deliver Amazon gift cards or cash/check donations (please make checks out to the Stanwood-Camano Food Bank) to our Administrative office, 811 N. Sunrise Blvd. If we’re closed, you can leave them in the locked drop-box outside the entrance.
  • You can also mail gift cards or donations if that’s more convenient: Camano Fire, 811 N Sunrise Blvd, Camano Island, WA 98282
  • Give donations to Santa and his elves during the annual Santa Run the second week of December

What to donate

Most-needed items at the Food Bank include:

  • Hearty Soups and Stews (Progresso or Campbell’s Chunky type) – This is a great option for all food bank clients
  • Pasta and Pasta Sauce – Always a helpful staple to keep on hand for families.
  • Macaroni & Cheese – A popular item with kids, especially during the holiday break
  • Hot Beverages (Coffee, Keurig Pods, Tea, Hot Chocolate Packets, Apple Cider Packets) – These items can be a cozy treat for families during the holiday months.
  • Diapers, Size 6 – These items can’t be purchased with SNAP and EBT benefits.
  • Toilet Paper – Also can’t be purchased with SNAP or EBT benefits.
  • Gift cards (Amazon preferred, please) – Amounts of $25 are preferred since gift cards go to teens at Holiday House

Amazon gift cards give teens at Holiday House a chance to pick their own holiday gift, no matter where they live or how they get around.
