Six new career firefighters officially joined Camano Fire on Jan. 15.
These new full-time personnel bring a diverse set of skills and experience to the department, with some joining as lateral hires and some joining as entry-level firefighters.
Our entry-level firefighters will spend three months at the fire academy beginning in February. After graduation in mid-May, they will rejoin their shifts.
We were able to hire these firefighters thanks to funding from the levy lid lift voters approved last November.
