Every current part-time firefighter gets an interview for full-time, career positions with the department. Many of our newest hires started out working part time with us.
As a part-time firefighter, you’ll have a predictable but flexible schedule, regular training opportunities, and the chance to learn specialty skills like marine or rope rescue.
Minimum qualifications include IFSAC Firefighter 1 Certification, including Hazardous Materials Operations, and Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMT-B).
Applications are accepted until 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2026. Top candidates will be invited to interview on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026.
