Chair Janice Treml officially swore in Kim Williams and Kelly Yadon as Camano Fire’s newest commissioners at Tuesday night’s board meeting. Voters elected the two last fall to replace retiring commissioners Erik Krieg and Stephen Lich.
“The role of fire commissioner is an important one for our organization and for public safety on the island,” Fire Chief Levon Yengoyan said. “I’m always grateful that we have residents who are willing to lend their time and expertise to ensuring that we continue to provide high-quality fire and EMS services.”
Kim Williams is a 20-year resident of Camano Island who recently retired as CEO of Providence Northwest; she previously served as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nurse at Providence. She has been a Registered Nurse for more than 40 years and currently serves on the Community Resource Center Board and the Northsound Accountable Community for Health Board.
Kelly Yadon retired after 40 years as a cardiovascular technologist in major medical centers such as Swedish Medial Center, in Seattle, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, in Los Angeles. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, gardening, and officiating volleyball for the Greater Seattle Volleyball and Northwest Volleyball organizations.
Board members each serve 6-year terms and help the department develop its strategic plan and long term vision. The Board meets at 4:30 p.m. the second and fourth Monday of each month at the Camano Fire Administration offices.
