Commissioner Yadon stepping down from Board of Fire Commissioners

Aug. 30, 2023

Fire Commissioner Kelly Yadon is stepping down from his position on the Camano Island Fire & Rescue Board of Commissioners effective Aug. 31, 2023, as he relocates away from Camano Island.

Kelly has served on the Board since January 2022.

“I’ve enjoyed working with Commissioner Yadon and value the experience and commitment to public safety that he brought to his position on the Board,” Chief Levon Yengoyan said. “He will be greatly missed.”

“On behalf of the Board of Commissioners, I would like to thank Commissioner Yadon for his nearly two years of service and dedication,” Board Chair Jerry Evans said. “His advocacy for residents – particularly those on the south end – have been instrumental in the development of our strategic plan and vision that will support our community for years to come.”

By state law, the Board of Fire Commissioners has 90 days to appoint a replacement for the vacant position. The new appointee will serve through 2024. Fire Commissioners are elected at large, meaning they don’t represent a specific area of the island, and serve a six-year term.
