We respond to fires every summer caused by people using propane torches too close to flammable material.
How can you prevent propane torch fires? Follow these simple steps:
- Don’t use the torch near dry brush, grass, or bark.
- Wilt the weeds, don’t burn them to a crisp
- Have a source of water nearby – like a hose or bucket of water
- Don’t use the torch during a burn ban
- Call 911 right away if you accidentally start a fire.
